Horry Electric Cooperative, as part of their celebration of National Cooperative Month, awarded $1,926.00 in Bright Ideas grant money to two teachers at two different schools in Horry County today. Details, complete with photographs, will be posted tomorrow. (Wednesday, October 23, 2013)
“Bright Ideas” is a grant program designed to provide funding for innovative classroom-based education projects. The grants can be made available to all disciplines in grades K-12 in Horry County. A school may submit an application and teachers are limited to one application per year.
Applications for the grants awarded this year were received by Horry Electric Cooperative in June. Announcements about the opportunity to apply are typically made in January. The online application for the program will be udpated at that time.
The deadline for 2014 Bright Ideas applications has been set for June 2, 2014.
