Members of Horry Electric will find the fall edition of Current Word in electric bills this month. Published periodically by the Cooperative as a supplement to other communications outlets, Current Word (Fall 2013 Edition) is available online in a PDF format.
The fall edition of Current Word features Horry Electric’s redesigned billing statement and MyEnergy Online, the new member service portal.
“We’ve already featured both in South Carolina Living magazine, but we figured it wouldn’t hurt to include a reminder along with the redesigned statements themselves when we mailed them out for the first time,” says Gordon Lay, accounts receivable supervisor for Horry Electric Cooperative. Lay is among a team of employees who worked on the new bill design.
“I tip my hat to the conversion planning team at Horry Electric for their efforts to put together a clean and professional looking billing statement,” said James P. “Pat” Howle, executive vice president and CEO of Horry Electric. The team used sample bills from a variety of other co-ops and solicited input from several different employees and a few members while working on the project. “The result is something I’m confident members will find easier to read and understand,” said Howle.
In addition to asking members to familiarize themselves with the new format of the bill, Horry Electric reminds members that important contact information, member responsibilities for accurate posting to their account, a summary of payment options, payment policies and a convenient bank draft authorization form are all on the back of the bill.
