Maintenance to ‘Manage My Account’ scheduled for July 23

Professional Computer Systems (PCS), Horry Electric’s  billing and software system provider, has scheduled server maintenance on Saturday, July 23. “Access to the functionality behind the Manage My Account icon on will be unavailable from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday,” says Jodi Braziel, office manager for Horry Electric Cooperative.

Members who typically use the Manage My Account  portal to make a payment are encouraged to use the alternate connection to Western Union Speedpay the cooperative already provides.  “Members will not be able to log into their account for the amount due or to get access to other account information, but they will be able to make a payment,” says Braziel. 

Members may also make Horry Electric bill payments by phone.  “Simply call 843.369.2211 and listen carefully to the phone menu options,” says Braziel. 

“While inconvenient, the maintenance to the server is necessary in order for PCS to put the last pieces of a major upgrade project in place,” says Braziel, adding that the upgrade project has increased the security and monitoring ability of their systems; has increased Internet communication capacity and redundancy and has strengthened  PCI compliance.

“Letting members know before they are inconvenienced and explaining the reason for it is important to us,” says Braziel.  “It’s another way we’re trying to look out for them through the service we provide.”
