“So members aren’t left stranded without any means of reporting power outages or emergencies related to their electric service, we’ve activated the outage reporting function of StormCentral on horryelectric.com,” says Penelope Hinson, manager of public relations, marketing and energy management. “We’d rather members report power outages by phone because it is tied to our information system and outage management program, but we’re glad to be able to make use of this online tool during the current technical issues we’re having with telephone and wireless service.”
Outage reporting to Horry Electric will be handled through StormCentral until phone lines are restored and access to PowerTouch is available again.
To access StormCentral, simply click on “Outage Report’ in the icon just below ‘Manage My Account’ on the home page of horryelectric.com. From there, you’ll be directed to a page and can select ‘Report An Outage” from the menu highlighted in yellow.
