Something new under the sun!

Grand Strand Solar Station dedicated today in Myrtle Beach

Santee Cooper’s latest renewable energy generation site consists of ground- and rooftop-mounted solar panels at 10th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. Combined, these units are the largest in the state and will produce 311 kilowatts of electricity. The station will increase South Carolina’s solar energy production by 50%.

The Grand Strand Solar Station joins other Green Power solar sites at Coastal Carolina University in Conway; the Center for Hydrogen Research in Aiken; and the Technical College of the Lowcountry’s New River Campus in Bluffton. In addition, 19 Green Power Solar Schools provide educational opportunities for students around the state.
